SureSmile & ClearCorrect

Do you remember seeing your friends with metal brackets attached to each tooth? Or wires that went across the front of their teeth? Traditional braces have been a sore spot for many people, and the idea of having them placed in your mouth to correct misaligned teeth likely seems unappealing. Luckily, SureSmile and ClearCorrect are the perfect alternatives. With SureSmile and ClearCorrect, Schneider Family Dental offers the newest solutions in orthodontics for our patients.

SureSmile and ClearCorrect are a series of clear, custom-fit, removable aligners that slowly realign teeth into the desired position. Using a 3D model of your teeth, an impression is made and aligners are crafted to custom fit your mouth. You will then wear the aligners, similar in fashion to a mouthguard. In many cases, it’s the perfect solution to crowded or spaced teeth, overbites, underbites, and crooked teeth.

What does the process look like?
CEREC technology is used to create a highly detailed digital scan of your mouth. Based on the unique shape of your teeth you’ll be provided with aligners in sets. Moderate cases usually require 32 steps of treatment delivered in eight phases.
For less severe cases, 12 steps of treatment, delivered in three phases, is usually enough.

How long will I need to wear the aligners on a daily basis?
Aligners for both the upper and lower teeth will need to be worn about 22 hours a day.

How long does the treatment typically last?
Treatment duration can vary between one and two years, depending on the specific alignment problem.

What are the benefits of SureSmile & ClearCorrect?
One of the most appealing benefits of SureSmile and ClearCorrect are that they are completely transparent. Being virtually invisible means you can smile with confidence!
SureSmile and ClearCorrect are also minimally invasive. After the aligners have been created, they only need basic maintenance and can even be removed while eating and drinking, or while brushing and flossing.
The aligners are also extremely resistant to clouding and discoloration from use.

Are SureSmile & ClearCorrect right for me?
SureSmile and ClearCorrect can be used to address a range of problems, but as with any orthodontic treatment, they may not be suitable for everyone. For certain misalignment issues or complex bite problems, traditional orthodontics might be the best option.
